We’re very excited to share Lucy & Lewis’ St Giles House wedding in Wimborne, Dorset. St Giles House is an incredibly chic, understated wedding venue in Dorset that effortlessly oozes elegance in a modest way. This award winning family home is nestled among the grounds of the Shaftesbury Estate and has been beautifully restored to cater for weddings and bespoke events all year round.
In the Main House, Lucy and her bridesmaids got ready together in the beautifully decorated Japan room. After sipping champagne in her stylish Daily Sleeper luxury feather pyjamas, Lucy put on her bespoke Sassi Holford gown, Loeffler Randall pleated platform shoes and modern Mejuri earrings. Her gorgeous bridesmaids looked incredibly chic in handmade contemporary silk dresses from London based label The Own Studio.
Over in The Riding House, Lewis and his groomsmen enjoyed generous glasses of whiskey together as they prepared for the day ahead. It is clear that the charm and character has been wonderfully preserved during the restoration of this building, a unique space for guests to enjoy. Liam along with the father and his groomsmen got ready in the upstairs lounge area. After gifting bespoke hip flasks to his groomsmen as a thank you for their support and friendship, they begun to suit up ready for the ceremony.
Lucy and Lewis chose to have a private first look moment outside in the courtyard before making their way into the ceremony. We absolutely love documenting these intimate moments and this was such a special way to start off the celebrations. The bride and groom then moved inside St Giles House where they then exchanged personal vows to one another in front of the fireplace.
Country House Wedding Venue in Dorset
The incredible team brought together by Lucy, who meticulously planned the wedding herself, joined together to create a truly unforgettable experience for them and their loved ones. Lucy and Lewis chose to have their wedding ceremony in one of the 5 principal rooms, with reception out on the sunken garden shortly after. A talented three-piece jazz band played in the background whilst guests mingled together sipping champagne.
Following an afternoon in the sunshine, guests were seated in The Library ready to dine together. The room itself is stunning, filled with oil paintings, rows of old books and huge fireplaces that had been wonderfully restored. Two long trestle tables were adorned with carefully considered details and gorgeous blooms from the very talented florist Vervain Flowers. The speeches were emotional and full of love and laughter, a true celebration of the life they have created together.
Cocktail hour followed with signature cocktails for the Bride + Groom created by the wonderful team at St Giles House.
While guests sipped on their drinks swapping stories from the day, we slipped away into the gardens with the couple and spent a few calm moments together appreciating such a beautiful sunset together. Taking ten minutes together to step away and soak it all in is crucial on your wedding day. These quiet moments are also some of our favourite to capture so we always make sure to build it into your schedule.
St Giles House is also known for its award winning underground nightclub designed with state of the art light systems and speakeasy bar. Consecutive hit after hit, the DJ kept the dance floor alive, even the grandparents couldn’t resist a dance!
Lucy and Lewis successfully threw the ultimate stylish wedding day at St Giles House and we cannot wait to be back there again in the future.
